Biting pop-genius from NARCOTIC HEARTS with double A-side single ‘Til It All Goes Up In Flames/Jupiter Liar,’ released next week via the Perfect Pop Co-Op label, and first release from November’s ‘Manufactured Tension’ album.
The sub-three-minute track ‘Til It All Goes Up In Flames’ now appears hauntingly prophetic, having been written well before the recent catastrophic wildfires seen across the UK and EU.
“The lead single ‘Til It All Goes Up In Flames wasn’t written with climate change specifically in mind, though it may appear that way on first listen,” said vocalist and lyricist, Andreas Vanderbraindrain. “However, the summer heat and destruction of so much UK habitat due to wildfires have given it a previously unintended relevance and focus. From our own personal perspective, video plans had to be changed too. We drove to Wales specifically to shoot the film with the original concept involving a real live bonfire.”
“And the parallels between today’s polarised world and the disorientating time of my teenage years – that feeling of deep-rooted global uncertainty and new technology replacing the old – leave me grieving over the realisation that lessons weren’t learned, and nothing will really change until…”
